Crow Salon

Jacey Gillette | Owner

After 7 years in the business I didn’t think owning a salon could happen. I knew I loved doing hair and loved seeing people happy, but I was happy with “just getting by” until my stars aligned. I met Lindsay, a coworker of mine at the sweet salon in OB I worked at and became fast friends. She decided to make the plunge and buy a little salon in La Mesa and offered me a spot as it was closer to my home in Spring Valley. Lindsay had some life changes and decided that San Diego wasn’t her home anymore. She tried really hard to sell the salon, but didn’t have any luck until she came to me as a friend and offered me the salon at a good price. I at that moment was not sure, but after giving it much thought and letting my mind go to a place of possibility I was feeling like “wow I really could do this!” So I took Lindsay up on her offer an decided to buy the salon.

January 1st 2015 I became a business owner. After traveling a long, hard road growing up on welfare, food stamps, eating top ramen…the constant struggle of life, I was in a bit of shock of what my life had become. The beginning of the salon was very difficult, but now many years later Crow Salon has become one of La Mesa’s best salons and the whole experience has humbled me beyond words. I’m very thankful for those who got me to this moment.

Crow Salon specializes in kindness. We take pride in making our clients happy and making their vision come to life. I am proud to say that we have stayed true to creating good hair and happy customers. We don’t really fit in La Mesa, but at the same time we fit in just fine. Crow Salon looks and feels different when you walk in and we like that because we are different!

Be Unique. Be Yourself.
